Good morning everyone,

You are all doing really well working from home and staying safe and being brave. We are proud of you and your families working at this strange time. Well done and keep trying!

Please choose one English and one Maths activity to complete each day, try to choose a different activity every day. If you want to do more than one activity you can but this is optional. We love seeing your work so please put something on Seesaw each day, either one of the activities we have set or something else that you have done.

For today’s work we have set English, Maths and PSHE.

English

Can you put two ‘ew’ and ‘er’ words into a sentence?

Read a book and see if you can find any words with 'er' and 'ew' in, don’t worry if your book does not have words with these sounds in.

Can you play on 'Teach your Monster to Read' for 20 minutes.

This week we're going to be working through Summer Term – Week 3 (w/c 4th May) of these activities. Watch the video and then complete the activities. You can even check your own answers when you're done (but no cheating) If you get something wrong, try to figure out what you've done! Use paper/book to write down your answers. There's one for each day. Please don't do Summer term week 4 yet, as that will be our work for next week!

PSHE:

In Year 1 we love PSHE. Have a talk about the feelings that your child might be having in the current situation. It might be about the prospect of going back to school? Not going back? They might be angry, fed up, scared, completely fine or happy? All feelings are valid.

Talk about all the people and places that make your child feel safe.

Activity: draw a big umbrella and fill in all the people and places that make you feel safe and decorate your umbrella.

Free Umbrella Pictures For Kids, Download Free Clip Art, Free Clip ...

Other suggestions:

PE: Join in with Joe Wicks at 9am, if not can you hop, skip, bunny hop and jump around your garden if the weather is nice.

Next week is half term so we want you to play outside in your gardens, go for walks, spend time with your mums, dads, brothers or sisters have a break from school work. We are not putting any work onto the website or seesaw so that you can have a rest from doing all the fabulous work. We will put work on after the half term break.

Stay Safe and remember to post your work on Seesaw so we can keep in touch.
