8th December

Date: 8th Dec 2016 @ 1:38pm

Year 6 have been working extremely hard this week! We have been doing lots of test practice before we can enjoy some festivities next week! It hasn't all been hard work though as we got to enjoy watching the KS1 Nativity on Wednesday morning - the children really enjoyed watching their buddies perform.

We also visited the Life Caravan on Monday afternoon and found out lots about our body and how to keep ourselves healthy. The focus this year was on 'decisions' and making the best ones. The children thought about situations they might find themselves in particularly when they go to high school. They got the opportunity to talk about illegal and legal drugs and how to keep themselves safe.

Year 6 have been learning a dance routine with a dance teacher from OCA; we have been working on developing confidence when performing and the children will get to perform to their Reception buddies next Wednesday.

This week, the children have been working with Mr Whewell to generate ideas for their own adventure stories with an Ancient Egyptian theme. Next week, they will writing their stories.

We have lots planned for next week and we will be enjoying our Key Stage Christmas party on Thursday afternoon and Christmas Jumper Day on Friday. As well as the school disco and Breakfast with Santa - we have a lot to do!

I am very pleased with the hard work this term. The children know that we will be stepping this up again after Christmas. I hope you all have a lovely restful break and come back nice and refreshed!

Miss Hopkins.
