Year 2 (13th October)

Date: 13th Oct 2017 @ 4:11pm

Hello everybody!

Unfortunately our blog has decided to be silly and our V-log with Riley and Daisy last week is not showing up! Please bare with us and we will get this sorted quickly as our V-logs are great fun and very informative.

I would just like to say thank you to the parents for being very understanding with me being off school ill on Monday and Tuesday this week. I was stuck at home with flu and was itching to get back into school to the lovely Year 2's!

It was great to hear as always that our fantastic Year 2 class were brilliantly behaved for the supply teachers, and as well as that we won the monthly attendance this month with 100%! It is so important for the children to be in school every day and on time for the crucial learning that goes on in this year group and it makes me feel so proud that our class are flying ahead of everyone with attendance! Keep it up!

This week, the children made their own fun inventions given only a basic amount of resources and wow their imaginations really did show! We had all sorts of crazy, fun and creative inventions that the children made in groups. We will take some pictures when we present them next week!

The children have been making me so proud in Maths, we are getting much more confident at addition and subtraction of two 2-digit numbers! Keep practising this and place value at home as these skills are vital to our number knowledge.

In English, we have been starting to plan our fact file for our invention fact files! It will be great to see the last piece of big writing next week. Already I am starting to see much more consistent capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and full sentences!

Finally, I am so proud of the children in this year's Harvest Service in Church. Whether the children had a line to say or not, every child did me so proud. They sang their hearts out and encouraged each other along the way and it went down fantastically well!

Next week is the final week of this half-term. Time really does fly. There will be an inventions holiday project going home, as well as another page of our number booklets! I will also send home the Year 2 learning grid with things that need to be practised for next half-term.

Have a lovely weekend everybody.

Miss Green and Year 2 :)
