Hello all!

We have had an exciting couple of weeks. Now swimming has finished, we have got back into the swing of things in the classroom and the children have been producing work of a very high standard. The expectations are high in Year 6 and the children are raising their standards to meet these expectations which is fantastic!

Thank you to all of those who attended parents' evening last week. I have managed to rearrange a few meetings for those who couldn't make it; please get in touch as I have lots of great things to share!

We have an additional teacher in the classroom until Christmas (Mr. Whewell). Mr. Whewell and Mrs. Baker took the Year 5 and 6 girls football to a competition at Wade Deacon yesterday. The girls played brilliantly and came fourth. I have included some pictures from their afternoon.

The children have been really enjoying learning about Ancient Egypt. In particular, the gruesome and gory details of mummification. This week, they have written instructions for the mummification process. Some children have been working extra hard at home and have brought in additional work they have completed independently!

In computing, they have been rewriting their own version of 'The Snowman' as a special present for their buddy. It is lovely seeing how the children work with their reception buddies. We read with them every week and they will really have a massive part to play in their buddies enjoyment of books and learning to read! I have attached some photos of their reading time with their buddies.

We have also been busy working in our Celebration Books this week. Please take the time to look at the work in your child's book and share their learning with them!

Don't forget that we test our times tables all the time and children can practise their times table knowledge on Times Table Rockstars! (www.ttrockstars.com)

Until next week...
