Hello again,

Here we are at the end of our first half term in Year 6; I can't believe how quickly it has gone! It has made us think about how little time we have left and how much we still have to cover!

The children were given their half term homework yesterday and I have stressed how important it is that they are completing this work independently. I have given them basic skills and methods in maths and spelling to practise - there will not be a test nor do I expect any written work from them but it is so incredibly important that they put the work in at home to ensure they can access the learning in the classroom. Children are expected to use Times Table Rockstars at home where possible (I understand that some children do not have access) to improve their times table knowledge. I have attached some video clips to support learning at home!

The children have been working amazingly hard all half term which has been helped by their increased maturity - I have had lots of positive comments about their classroom behaviour and behaviour for learning. Keep it up Year 6!

We have had a very tiring week this with swimming and we will be continuing swimming on the first week back. It would be great if the children could go swimming over the holiday to practise what they have been learning this week.

I hope you all enjoy your holiday!
