Welcome back everybody. This is Year 4’s very first weekly blog post! Our first day back was lots of fun and it was great to hear what everyone had been up to over the holidays. We decided to use our school Trip Adviser account to review some of the places we had visited in our computing session, what a great experience!

We have started to read ‘Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes and we are already hooked. We have made postcards from the Seagull, described the iron man using exciting vocabulary as well as creating list poems about the scrap yard (that was great fun).

Our first judo session back was very exciting, it was great to see everyone remembering all of the moves from before the holidays.

Unfortunately, I was off school sick for two days in the first week back with tonsillitis. Could that timing be any worse after two weeks off! Luckily, I was able to come back into school after two days and carry on our exciting learning with Year 4. It was great to hear that whilst I had been off, they had been superstars for the teachers who had taught them over the two days so thank you Year 4!

I am really proud with the positive attitudes from the children being back at school. Mrs McDonnell and Mrs O’Neill are also super proud of The Super 4! A very well done to Aaron and Demi for winning our star of the week last week and this week. You have been fantastic!

In the upcoming week we are going to be looking at time, shape, roman numerals, character descriptions and Iron Age vessel drawing! Have a look at these fun YouTube clips below for a kick start!

Have a lovely week.
