Friday 16th September

Date: 16th Sep 2016 @ 4:15pm

Hello and welcome to Year 4 and a brand new year!

This is the class of 2016/17s weekly blog and I am really excited to keep you all up to date with the 'Fantastic Four'.

This week has been our first full week as a Year 4 class and I am already absolutely loving teaching every single one of the children! So far this week we have delved into Singapore Maths with place value, immersed ourselves into drama with English, as well as writing some really cool similes about volcanos!

PE was also really good fun this week as we started our Roman dance topic. It was great to see the children using their imaginations to the music for the four positions of: Protect, Fight, March and Battle.

Next week, we will be starting to look at diary entries linked to our English focus book of 'Escape From Pompeii'. In Maths we are carrying on with our place value and investigating in Singapore Maths! Please don't forget that Friday will be our first homework quiz!

A challenge for over the weekend:

In Maths on Friday we carried out an investigation to see how many 4-digit numbers could be made out of the digits, 2, 2, 3 and 5. Any child who can bring me the most possibilities will win a prize!

On a final note, well done to Ciaran for winning Star of the Week last week, and to Grace for winning this week!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Green.
